I have a passion for telling stories and I have a passion for photography. I may even consider myself more of a storyteller than a photographer. I also love teaching photography and teaching the art of telling stories and expressing ourselves.
When I was 16 years old my mother gave me my first camera and in doing so she gave me the gift of photography and more importantly, the gift of telling stories. I became instantly hooked on seeing life's moments through the lens of a camera and telling the story that unfolds in front of me.
I'm a dreamer. Always have been.
I see beauty in all human beings and the broken and imperfect stories that make us who we are today. I believe in vulnerability and authenticity and I believe when we bring this to our photoshoots we capture images that are a reflection of your hearts and souls.
My goal is to tell your story in the images I take. I personally shoot, process and review all the photos. And I generally work alone - just you and me and the location we select. I love what I do, and that’s why I do it. Sometimes my son Kyle will join us as my lighting guy.
I struggle to define my "style' because my style is me. When I have to put words to it I believe it's photojournalistic. By this I mean I capture the moment for what it is. The relationship of those in the image and also the relationship with the environment of where we are. Whether it's commercial photography or personal portraiture, I want to know why you want photographs. It's sounds like an easy question but often it's not. Together we will tell your story with your photographs. Each session, image and story is truly unique...it's your story and it's your moment in time.
I look forward to working with you in capturing your images and being part of telling your story.
